| Join a Network of Professional Peacebuilders |
The Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) is a membership-based
organization
made up of organizations and professionals committed to making the world
more peaceful. Our organizational and individual practitioner members
are actively engaged in peacebuilding work. They work in the field doing
the real, hard work of peacebuilding. We welcome the membership of everyone who is engaged or wishes
to be engaged in peacebuilding or peace activities of any kind.
Why Join? Because AfP:
|
You [the Alliance for Peacebuilding] represent the ability to seek peace for its own sake,
without necessarily considering the interests of different external
actors. In fact, we have encouraged NGOs and civil society groups to
actively engage in situations where the solution is to go in this
direction. This relationship needs to continue. It has been recognized
by the former Secretary General,
and the current Secretary General, that civil society's partnership in
peace making and peace consolidation is central and we will see more and
more of that partnership in times to come.” --Haile Menkerios, Assistant Secretary-General of the UN at the Alliance for Peacebuilding Annual Conference. |
