AfP's #CreativityInCrisis: Using Chatbot technology to assist vulnerable populations - lessons from the Philippines with ICM

Join us for a conversation with International Care Ministries (ICM) as their team in the Philippines talk through some of the challenges COVID-19 posed to their programming and how they were able to use chatbots to creatively overcome these challenges. The chatbot assisted vulnerable populations in navigating the Philippine Department of Health's COVID-19 algorithm while also serving as an "emotional tool" to prevent these communities from panicking in the midst of the pandemic. Populations suffering from poverty and ultra-poverty were able to seek medical advice and address their needs through the chatbot and ICM was also able to keep track of food insecurity in the region to inform their programming responses.

Through the #CreativiityInCrisis video series, we hope to inspire a conversation around adaptation and how we, as a community can develop creative solutions to address our shared needs.
