Sudan Conflict One Year On: Women's Leadership, Impact, and Ways Forward

On Thursday, April 11th at 9:00am EDT, please join the Alliance for Peacebuilding, Refugees International, and Vital Voices for a hybrid event marking the one-year anniversary of the conflict in Sudan. The conflict has left nearly 25 million people in need of humanitarian assistance, displaced more than eight million inside and outside of the country, and disproportionately affected women and girls. The event will feature opening remarks and a moderated discussion with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield and U.S. Special Envoy for Sudan Tom Perriello, followed by a panel of Sudanese women leaders to explore the gendered impacts of the conflict, the role of women’s leadership in the face of the crisis and opportunities for their influence on the peace process and the future of the country.

The event will take place at the Vital Voices Headquarters for Women’s Leadership, located at 1509 16th Street NW, Washington, DC 20036.
