We
are pleased to announce a new round of awards for the Best Practices &
Innovations (BPI) Initiative. Previous rounds of the BPI emphasized
effective approaches to agricultural and rural development. The current
phase of the BPI focuses on successful program
models in which international NGOs built the capacity of local implementing
partners working in food security and agriculture. A panel of expert
reviewers evaluated BPI submissions based on criteria of effectiveness,
efficiency, gender equity, sustainability and replicability. The
projects that ranked highest are :
"Civil Society and Market Networks
for Pro-Poor Sustainable Development in the Ayeyarwady Delta,” Mercy Corps
"Uganda Domestic Biogas Program,” Heifer
International

On
Wednesday June 20,
from 12:30-2:00pm,InterAction
will host an event to recognize these organizations and provide participants
with an opportunity to learn more about the factors that account for their
success. Representatives from the winning projects will give short
presentations describing their submission and its Best Practice
approach. We invite you to come learn about these projects, ask
questions and support your colleagues.
