Dear AfP Members,
As some of you may know, Search for Common
Ground launched a field-wide resource on peacebuilding evaluation called
the Learning Portal for DM&E for Peacebuilding several months ago. I
am pleased to share that AfP is now an institutional
partner with Search for Common Ground on the DM&E Learning Portal
(dmeforpeace.org), joining other academic and policy organizations in
sponsoring the Learning Portal, and its mission of supporting rigorous
evaluation for the peacebuilding field.
One of the key members of AfP’s Peacebuilding
Evaluation Project (PEP), Search for Common Ground developed the
Learning Portal in part as a response to the many calls from PEP
participants for increased sharing and transparency across
the field. Developed in partnership with the Peacebuilding &
Development Institute at American University’s School of International
Service, with support from the US Institute of Peace and the UK’s
Department for International Development, the Learning Portal
is a comprehensive resource that enriches the value and quality of
peacebuilding DM&E. As an invaluable transparent and collaborative
space, you can find the following – free of charge! – to improve your
M&E and peacebuilding practice:
- Evaluation reports and data
- Methodologies and tools
- Best and emerging practices
- DM&E events and opportunities
- Forums for discussion and joint work
This online community of practice is an
interactive space that addresses all your evaluation needs – from the
conceptual level down to day-to-day practices in the field. In just a
few minutes, you can contribute to improved practices
for the field of peacebuilding and gain from the conversations and
sharing on the Learning Portal. Here’s how:
- Sign Up: You might even consider creating an organizational profile
to post jobs, events and evaluation reports to enable other Users to
quickly find your resources!
- Add Resources: Once you have joined, you might add a recent peacebuilding
evaluation report, or your favorite how-to guide. Don’t forget to tell
the community why you found that resource useful!
- Engage the Community: You might post a discussion topic on a
difficulty you are experiencing, or simply reflect on what you have
found to work in peace practice!
Please join me in contributing to this whole of community tool and join the Learning Portal today!
Warmly,
Melanie
