From the June Search for Common Ground Update:

This year marks the 30th anniversary of Search for Common Ground’s founding in 1982.  Appropriately John Marks, founder and president, received kudos last month by being recognized by the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and by an in-depth and insightful feature article in Cornell University’s Magazine.

The Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution awarded the 12th annual International Advocate for Peace Award to John Marks, "because of his extensive work in conflict prevention, transformation and awareness-building.”  The awards event was held last month in New York City. Past recipients of this Award include: President Bill Clinton, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Senator George Mitchell, Ambassador Richard Holbrooke, Ambassador Dennis Ross, and economist Jeffrey Sachs.
