Over the past several months, the Alliance for Peacebuilding (AfP) has received over 100 thought-provoking workshop proposals from individuals and organizations that span the globe. These inventive and moving proposals, along with contributions from AfP staff and member organizations, represent the foundation of the 2017 Annual Conference, an event that will challenge attendees to examine traditional assumptions about peacebuilding in a new light.
On October 11, the Alliance for Peacebuilding will partner with the United States Institute of Peace to ignite a conversation among conference participants that encourages meaningful reflection on the state of the world, and what fluctuations in domestic politics and international conflict means for the future of peacebuilding. The conclusions and strategies presented at the United States Institute of Peace will be taken up at FHI 360, where conference participants will explore how the peacebuilding field can offer powerful solutions to the world’s most complex problems.
In addition to a series of interactive workshops, the final day of the conference on October 13 will feature the Young Peacebuilders’ Forum, where the next generation of peacebuilders will come together to develop skills and tools for starting an impactful career in peacebuilding.
