Program on the Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts (PARC) Contact: Rosemary O’Leary, Senior Associate roleary@maxwell.syr.edu Advancing the theory and practice of the analysis of conflict, the resolution of conflict, collaborative problem solving and collaborative governance. The Program on the Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts (PARC) is an interdisciplinary program within the Maxwell School of Syracuse University. PARC provides students and faculty with resources for the study of social conflicts and their dynamics. The special emphasis within the program on understanding ways in which collaborative management can transform apparently intractable conflicts into constructive, civil dialogue contributes to the Maxwell School’s core emphasis on promoting citizenship and public responsibility. PARC offers a graduate Certificate of Advanced Study in Conflict Resolution, and an undergraduate minor in Non-violent Conflict and Change. The Conflict Management Center, a student-led, educational project of PARC, provides applied opportunities for skills training, community education and mediation. PARC faculty associates conduct research in the areas of environmental conflict, collaborative management, culture in international peacekeeping, and social movements.
