Hundredth Anniversary of Satyagraha
In December 2005 AfP hosted a private reception in Boston featuring peace activist Ela Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi’s granddaughter and former member of Parliament in South Africa. The event took place to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of Satyagraha, Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of nonviolent resistance. Following is a short excerpt from Ms. Gandhi’s heartfelt and eloquent presentation on the evolution of her grandfather’s philosophies.
