Nick Zuroski, Manager - Policy & Advocacy

Nick graduated with honors from Hamilton College in 2017, majoring in Mandarin Chinese and World Politics and studying abroad in Beijing, China between January and August 2016. In May 2021, Nick graduated from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs with an M.A. in International Affairs, concentrating in Global Gender Policy and International Law & Organizations. He also served as the selected graduate student commencement speaker in his Elliott School graduation.  

Following his undergraduate studies, Nick worked in the private sector via strategic marketing and communications and then in investment research. During his graduate program at Elliott, he interned at the US-ASEAN Business Council conducting political economy analysis, as well as at USAID contractor CollaborateUp. This year, Nick helped found the D.C. Student Consortium on Women, Peace, and Security — an initiative spanning academia and civil society that aims to encourage intergenerational and innovative thought around the WPS Agenda.  

Nick’s interests lie at the intersection of peace and stability, gender equality, and grassroots-oriented understandings of human security. During his time in Beijing, Nick conducted independent research on the experiences of minority Uyghur students in Minzu University. His graduate capstone project studied the dynamics between gendered disinformation and authoritarian regimes using the Philippines as a case study, supporting client organization #ShePersisted Global run by renowned disinformation scholar Lucina Di Meco.  

Nick lives in Arlington, VA and in his free time enjoys reading, spending time with his dog, going on runs, playing video games, and watching his favorite movies and TV shows.
