Stefani Selina Prameswari, Policy & Advocacy Intern
Stefani is currently pursuing an M.A. in Conflict Resolution at Georgetown University and a Gender, Peace, and Security Certificate at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace, and Security (GIWPS). Stefani previously graduated with a B.A. in International Relations Studies from the Universitas Indonesia in 2022. Stefani’s paper, "Insurgency, Counterinsurgency, and Human Security: A Case Study of Armed Violence in Papua during the COVID-19 Pandemic," was successfully published in a peer-reviewed, open-access journal.
After she graduated, Stefani worked at Asia Justice and Rights (AJAR) and Amnesty International, contributing to research reports on Indonesia’s human rights violations, atrocity crimes, and transitional justice, with a focus on women human rights defenders, gender-based violence, Indigenous peoples, and regional contexts, including conflict-related areas in Papua, Aceh, and East Timor. In addition to working in international organizations, Stefani was selected as a Pipeline Fellow at Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security, and Conflict Transformation (WCAPS) in 2024. She has continued to support WCAPS as a mentor, speaker, and facilitator. Prior to her master’s journey starting, she co-founded a nonprofit organization that focused on women's and children's rights called Women and Children Resilience (WCR) Indonesia. She facilitated training of trainers, communications projects, public discussions, and small research projects in collaboration with multi-stakeholders ranging from civil society, international organizations, and government to law enforcement.
Along with her three cohort members, her capstone project involved working as a research assistant at the Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group for Ukraine (ACA), for which Georgetown University serves as the lead implementing entity. In April 2026, her capstone group organized a successful campus event for students in which experts talked about confronting conflict-related sexual violence in Ukraine and beyond.
Stefani currently resides in Washington, D.C., and in her free time she enjoys walking to local coffee shops and libraries, taking Pilates classes, and enjoying home cooking.
