Militarization, Media, Geopolitics, and the Increase of Conflict Risk: Launch of the 2025 Global Peace Index

On Wednesday, June 25th at 10am ET, please join AfP and the Institute for Economics and Peace for the hybrid launch of the 2025 Global Peace Index (GPI). As internationalized conflict becomes more common, the nature of technology evolves, foreign assistance cuts abound, and macroeconomic adjustments inflate risk, peace is becoming ever more elusive. This conversation will provide a practical, data-driven picture of changes in peacefulness around the world, including an analysis of safety and security, militarization and conflict trends, and the factors that drive improvements in peace over time. Produced by IEP, the GPI is the world's leading measure of global peacefulness. It ranks 163 independent states and territories using 23 qualitative and quantitative indicators across three domains to surface key trends in peace, its economic value, and the prospects for the developments and sustainable peaceful societies.

To attend in-person at AfP's offices (1800 Massachusetts Ave NW, Suite 401, Washington DC 20036), please email Nick Zuroski. To attend virtually via Zoom, register through the link below.
